“Without You” (Poem/Song): Written By Viola Pressley

Without you my love,
I am nothing at all.

How do you ever expect
me to stand strong
without you. Without
you I’d fall

Without you, I find
it hard to smile.

I can’t stand to find
myself living in the
same place.

Love with you once was
so grand. How our love
went wrong, I’ll never
truly understand. Still
thinking of you and no
one else. Trying to be
forgiving. Day after
day, in the back of my
mind, time after time,
I picture your face.

Without you by my side,
my heart just doesn’t
beat the same.

This situation just
doesn’t seem right.
Together you and I
used to fit together
so perfectly, so tight.
Now we’re a broken
chain.

Without you, tell me,
how do I go on?

Will I make it without
you? Will I ever find
love in another face,
in another place, where
I feel like I belong?

I try to block out all
my memories of you.
I try to let go. Still
I remain scarred. I’m
ready to leave the home
we shared and go live
in exile.

For me to go on alone
without you, it feels
like an important part
of me is missing.

It seems like everything
is going wrong. I don’t
know what to do. My heart
ache is constant. I find
myself weak, when once I
was strong. When you left,
along with you, you took
the heart of me. There’s
no reason for reminiscing.

Without you, every day
seems so dark and dreary,
even if the sun is shining.

When people ask me about
you, I just change the
subject, or I turn and
walk away. When it comes
to speaking of you, I
want no part. I make
that known clearly. I
keep in mind that every
cloud has a silver lining.

Without you, there is a
vacancy in my heart.

My dreams were shattered.
You were all that truly
mattered. Now all I can
do is wait for a new love
to come into my life and
put back together the
broken parts.

Without you, I just seem
to be miserable. It
doesn’t matter who’s
around me.

The hurt caused by our
break-up is visible. The
love I thought I found
in you, turned out to be
the kind of love I wasn’t
after. It turned out to
be, the worst thing that
could happen to me, was
the day that you found me.

Without you, even though
I’m missing you, I know
that I’m better off.

For me to have stayed
with you, instead of
walking away from you,
I would have only ended
up lost.

I would have only found
myself in a far worse
situation.

I may have found myself
in a condition hard to
reverse, finding no
salvation.

Without you, there is
only one thing that I
can do, I must do.
That is to go on.

Another love will find
me, a better love for
me to hold onto. A
love that will survive.
A love that will stand
the tests of time. A
love that is strong.
A love that is lifelong.
